Association Friends of Jean-Luc Einaudi

The Association of Friends of Jean-Luc Einaudi was officially born on October 18, 2024, ten years after his sudden death. It took all this time of mourning and maturation for his friends, in harmony with his family, to create this "memory work" project about the work of citizen researcher Jean-Luc Einaudi.

Our goal is to make its content known and to share its findings with a wide audience, particularly young people, students and citizens.

The aim is to highlight the author's qualities and demands, in particular his innovative methods with regard to colonial history based on a considerable collection of testimonies, as well as his fight to gain access to the national archives.

Jean-Luc Einaudi's approach, claiming to uphold the rights and duties of citizens, has continually sought to find out what was ultimately committed in his name.

This substantial work, the best known of which is his book " The Battle of Paris " concerning the repression of the peaceful demonstration of Algerians in Paris against a racist curfew repressed by a massacre, on October 17, 1961 and the following days, but his investigations cover the entire second half of the twentieth century, colonial and post-colonial France, including essays, investigations as well as biographical portraits of personalities engaged in anti-colonial struggles.

It is all these collective and individual dimensions that our association wishes to transmit to as many people as possible for the development of active citizenship, enlightened by its various event and cultural actions.
